THE ROLE
An opportunity is available for an experienced Legal Assistant to provide high-level administrative and matter management support to partners and lawyers within the practice group across Sydney and Melbourne. Some of the tasks include:
  • Overseeing the practice group’s monthly billing process including creation of pre-bills, editing, finalising, and posting onto the system;
  • Assisting with the matter lifecycle and recommending process improvements;
  • Collaborate with the legal operations team to prepare, manage and streamline client financial reports for partners and lawyers;
  • Supporting the practice to achieve high levels of effective financial management including analysing, reviewing and improving existing billing and expense management processes;
  • Supporting the team with project rollouts and training initiatives;
  • Assisting partners and lawyers with business development responsibilities.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this role you will have proven experience as a Legal Assistant.  In addition to this you will have:
  • Proficiency in billing processes, including the ability to interpret and decipher billing information;
  • Strong experience in financial reporting;
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across various levels and departments;
  • A proven track record of learning, developing, and implementing new systems and processes; and
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
