About the role:
We’re seeking a passionate and experienced communications professional to join Samsung as the Head of Corporate Communications on an 8-Month Fixed Term Contract
. Sitting within the Corporate Marketing division and working closely with the Social and Content Marketing team, this leadership role is responsible for shaping and executing Samsung’s earned communications strategy across all business divisions.
Overseeing PR for both Consumer Electronics (CE) and Mobile Experience (MX), the role includes proactive media relations, brand campaigns, and reactive communications including issues management. You’ll manage a team of three and collaborate with an experienced internal team and a top-tier PR agency. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strategic PR leader looking to make an impact in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic development and implementation of communications activity including product launches and review programs, brand partnerships (e.g. Australian Open, Melbourne Fashion Festival) and reactive corporate communications and issues management (where required).
- Act as trusted advisor on earned communications campaigns and issues to internal stakeholders including division heads, VPs and Presidents.
- Direct engagement with spokespeople including briefing (development of briefing notes and face-to-face briefings), interview management.
- Attend all working-level meetings and drive engagement across relevant business areas including external third parties (including our B2B partners)
- Work with team leaders and guide our earned communications agency partners to develop strategies and implement campaigns that are delivered on time, to budget and achieve KPIs.
- Work to build and maintain media relationships with key journalists on behalf of Samsung.
- Review external communication material to media, contributions to publications and speeches and manage internal approval process.
- Ensure high-level of engagement and stakeholder management with internal teams including executives – ensuring appropriate flow of information to regional HQ (Singapore office) and HQ (Seoul office).
- 10-12 years earned communications agency and/or client-side experience.
- Demonstrate breath of earned communications experience including strategic development and implementation of ongoing PR programs.
- Experience in a consumer electronics or technology environment with demonstrated relationships with relevant journalists in consumer electronics is desirable but not critical.
