Associate - Disputes & Litigation

The Firm
This is a highly regarded full-service law firm known for delivering innovative legal solutions and fostering a collaborative, forward-thinking culture. The firm's Sydney disputes practice is thriving, with seven experienced Partners managing a diverse range of complex and high-profile matters. These include commercial litigation, regulatory investigations, and cross-jurisdictional disputes spanning both NSW and VIC.

The Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled disputes lawyer to join the Sydney team. The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with Partners and team members on a wide variety of matters, including commercial disputes, contractual issues, and multi-jurisdictional cases.
  • Conduct detailed legal research, draft compelling documents, and assist with advocacy in complex matters.
  • Navigate cross-jurisdictional legal processes and procedures in NSW and VIC, collaborating across offices when required.
  • Manage competing priorities, maintain high-quality work under tight deadlines, and ensure a client-focused approach throughout.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have:
  • 2.5–4 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in disputes or litigation.
  • A strong working knowledge of NSW procedural rules (experience with VIC matters is highly regarded or a willingness to upskill in this area).
  • Exceptional drafting, research, and organisational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple cases.
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • High attention to detail and a commercial mindset to deliver practical legal solutions.
Candidates from firms of any size will be considered, provided they demonstrate a genuine interest in working on complex, high-profile disputes.

Benefits
  • Exposure to cross-jurisdictional matters and an opportunity to work on complex, high-impact disputes.
  • A supportive and collaborative team culture, led by Partners who are committed to mentoring and career development.
  • Competitive remuneration, along with benefits to support work-life balance.
  • Career advancement opportunities within a firm that values innovation and excellence.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven lawyer looking to make a significant impact within a dynamic team.
