Your actions were worth much more than the sum of its parts

"It is with a heavy heart that I write this. On 13 July 2022, the world said goodbye to Mohan Skandamohan who suddenly passed at age 73. Mohan often spoke about his family with so much joy; his daughter, grandson and wife and my deepest and condolences go out to them during this extremely difficult time.

Mohan was one of the most loyal people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. When Recruitment Solutions opened their doors back in 1987, Mohan was one of business’s first ever placements. A letter of thanks written by Mohan was proudly hung and framed in Recruitment Solutions reception area. Mohan was eternally grateful for the opportunity and paid the business (and me) back, in more ways that you could imagine.

I joined Recruitment Solution in 1997 when I was only 22 years old and as the CFO for John Swire and Sons (Swire Group), Mohan was my first ever client. My first client that answered (and returned) my calls, my first client that agreed to meet me in person, my first client that gave me an opportunity to recruit for him, my first client to hire one of my temps, my first client to give me repeat business, my first client to work exclusively with me and above all my first client that considered me as his trusted partner.  Mohan was exceptionally generous with his time and introduced me to all the senior managers in the business that also required temps as well as religiously inviting me to the Swire company Christmas parties every year.

Mohan saw something in me before I saw it in myself. No doubt there were other consultants out there who had better credentials than I had, but what he did was that he believed, he believed that I could deliver. How fortune I was, considering I had no track record in recruitment and very little experience. He retired from the Swire Group but soon afterwards, he was pulled out of retirement to join Advantaged care, as he just loved working, making a difference, and helping people.

During his career, I had recruited over 200 exclusive placements with him at Swire’s and Advantaged Care and no doubt without his faith and belief, I would not be in the position that I am in today.

I am forever grateful to you Mohan for almost 30 years of partnership and support and have some fond memories of you, especially your chuckle. If only this picture of the two of us had audio. Those who laugh together will always stick together in heaven and on earth.

Rest in peace Mohan. You will be greatly missed"
