The benefits of working with your recruiter

There are a number of benefits of working with recruiters such as people2people or Frog Recruitment. Many job seekers may not be aware of exactly what a recruiter can achieve for them and how they can assist them in their search for employment.

More opportunities
Some employers choose to not advertise their available positions publicly, but instead enlist the help of a recruiter. By partnering with a recruiter, job seekers are made aware of these hidden opportunities and that they may be more suitable for their skillset and qualifications.

Bridging the gap
Recruiters can bridge the gap between job seekers and hiring managers – not just reading your resume but finding out who you are, as a person.

Saves you time
Rather than having to work through multiple application processes, across a variety of job boards, recruiters can instead contact employers directly to introduce job seekers and reduce the time and effort of multiple applications.

It’s important to foster a great relationship with your recruiter and keep them in the loop:

  1. Keep your resume up to date; this allows recruiters to correctly represent you to potential employers and assess your suitability
  2. Know your goals, availability, how far you will travel for work and your type of position/organisation which appeals to you
  3. Be transparent; share your motivations and anything you wouldn’t consider for work. This helps your recruiter know what is important to you and only contact you about vacancies of interest to you.
  4. Follow through with commitments; attend all scheduled appointments and call when you say you will. If you are unable to make it, advise your recruiter as soon as you can.
  5. Effective communication; update your recruiter about your availability or if you have holidays plans or if your job search has changed. This also includes if you have accepted another job opportunity. If you are seeking an update on your job search, please give them a call!
